I have recently been given a stepper motor system to work with which includes an UMI-774. However, no power supply has been supplied by who bought the system. To speed up the implementation of the system, I was wondering wether or not I could use a regular computer PSU in order to provide both the 24VDC and the Viso (5-30VDC).
The Viso is easy, since I can use the +5VDC and GND from the PSU.
But the thing is that, in order to get 24VDC from a computer PSU, I would have to use the voltage between the -12VDC and the +12VDC. Would it endanger the system in any way if, in teh C terminal (the common/ground) I used the -12VDC from the computer PSU?
