Working with STM

HI,

I am completely new to Labview but need to use it.

We have an application in Type script and it needs  to communicate to a NI sbRIO board . STM is underlying communication protocol between client PC and server(RIO board) 

A few questions

1. what pre-requisites sw are required on client PC to use STM ? - i understand STM can be installed from this link. but is Labview required ? as got errors while installing the downloaded installables from this page

2. how to call STM api 's in Visual studio code

Hi,

 is there a sample code in any language(C/C++ /java/,Net) that sends data to Labview application

The data could be a boolean /integer /float....

i would like to study that code and use it to send data from client application to labview server application
