Measurement studio for MSVS2008

HI,

I have a VB6 project in which measurement studio 6 control were used long back. Now i need to maintain that applciation in MSVS2008--VB. I am using a PCI-6533 (PCI-DIO-32HS card).

1. I installed "NIDAQ951f2.exe" -- this installed the drivers for PCI-6533 card.

2. I tried to install the latest Measurement studio S/W: MStudio2013f1.exe from ni.com and it is asking for device drivers DVD. Here, i downloaded and installed the NI device drivers from ni.com/drivers.

3. Now, this installed the NI software in my C:\National Instruments Downloads\NI Device Drivers\Aug13\Products/*.* --here i thought NI device drivers were installed on my PC. then i went to load Measurement Studio again and it still asks me for device drivers DVD. Now, which folder/location i should point it to??

4. I tried to upgrade my VB6 project using MSVS2008 and i get he errors: misisng components "cwdaq.ocx, cwanaly.ocx, cwui.ocx...." Where these components are available? How can i get them? Can i get some sort of support that i can re-install them in MSVS2008 ??

Thanks for your help.

Dattu.

Hi,

So you already have Measurement Studio installed and every time you open it you are asked for the DVD? Or you try to install it, it asks for the DVD, and you stop installation?

If you are trying to install it and it shows a window with the options for which software to install, click on Device Drivers and select 'Do not install drivers.' Selecting this feature is what prompts for the DVD and tries to install more drivers than you need. A list of all the drivers is in the Description here.

If you have already installed Measurement Studio, go to your Control Panel and navigate to the Add and Remove Programs application. Select National Instruments Software and Uninstall/Change. In the window that comes up next, select Measurement Studio for VS20xx and click Modify. This should bring up the features to install. Click on Device Drivers and select 'Do not install drivers' and then click next until it completes.

Also, after you have Measurement Studio installed, you can download NI DAQmx 9.8. This is the latest version of the DAQmx drivers and it also includes drivers for the PCI-6533.
