DAQ-mx wizard, without daq card present

I'm new in the whole daq / measurement studio thing so this might be a stupid question 😉

Is it possible to use the daq-mx wizard in visual studio without having a daq-card installed in your pc? (I want to develop on another pc, because the pc with the daq-card is constantly used for measurements).

Is there a tutorial of some kind where i can find more information about this?

Thanks in advance

Hi jeroen,

What I typically do in those cases is to simulate a NI-DAQmx device (checkout the NI-DAQmx Simulated Devices tutorial) so you can still develop.

Then from the Measurement Studio/DAQ Assistant side of things, I would suggest that you start with the Measurement Studio Walkthroughs (in particular, take a look at the Creating a Measurement Studio NI-DAQmx Application one) section in the NI Measurement Studio Help. To open the help, select Start >> All Programs >> National Instruments >> Measurement Studio 8.1 for Visual Studio 2005 >> Measurement Studio Documentation. Then inside their navigate to NI Measurement Studio Help >>  Getting Started with the Measurement Studio Class Libraries >> Measurement Studio Walkthroughs.

Hope this helps!
