Creating an Object reference

Hello :

I am new to object-oriented programming and just getting familiar with Teststand.  I am trying to access a C# module in Teststand.  For this purpose, I have a few questions :

1.  If the "Create an Object" tick mark is grayed out for a property, what does that mean?

2.  Can I simply create a local object reference type variable to access a property and retrieve the information I need from the property?

Please help.  Thanks in advance to all the experts for their assistance.

Could you attach a screenshot of what you're seeing? I'm having trouble understanding where you're finding this grayed-out box.

If you let me know the goal of your project, I can see if I can point you to some specific examples which would be helpful for you.
