Thank you for contacting National Instruments. If you would like to see some examples of NI IMAQ and triggering, then there should be a number of shipping examples installed on your computer already. You can browse through these by opening up the NI Example Finder in LabVIEW (go to the Help Menu and then select "Find Examples"). When the example finder opens, on the left side choose to browse according to Directory Structure. When you see all of the folders in the center, then select the IMAQ folder and then IMAQ Signal IO. There will be a number of triggering examples that you can choose from, run, and modify to fit your application.
As far as the Frame Timeout input goes, this simply allows you to set a timeout value for between when a trigger occurs and the ima
ge is read. If a trigger occurs and an image is not available in the specified timeout period, then an error message will be generated.
