specifying multiple frame timeouts in an ICD file

I have a camera that's very difficult to use because the exposure time vary from a few milliseconds to a few hundred seconds.  I'd like to modify the existing ICD file to have multiple frame timeouts depending on the different exposure times of the camera.  It's painful dealing with timeouts right now especially and it doesn't make sense that I need to wait a few minutes (for instance, if the camera gets unplugged) for an exposure to timeout that is only a few milliseconds.  How can I do this?

Thanks,

Can you determine what the ideal timeout would be before starting the acquisition?  I think you can set the timeout value when you setup the acquisition.  If you know it should only take a few milliseconds, set the timeout to a second or two.  If you are going to do a longer exposure, set the timeout longer.

I don't remember exactly how to set the timeout value, though.  It may be an input on one of the setup vis, or it may be in a property node.  You might have to search a little bit.

Thanks for your help.  Eventually I'm going to provide this ICD file to "the customer" when they receive the camera.  They might use a generic image acquisition software (such as MAX) to get started so it would great if there was a way to set the timeout according to exposure mode instead of having 1 global timeout value.
