esutanto,
No, I have never heard of a peanut sorting system that uses Vision. Although, I think it is highly likely that Vision Builder for Automated Inspection could sort peanuts, it might even be easy.
My only concern would be that peanuts are a product of nature and they do not always have uniform sizes and shapes. Also, due to their odd shape, there a quite a few different angles the peanuts might be viewed from. On the plus side, there are ways to deal with these difficulties.

esutanto,
Let me be honest. I really cannot tell you for sure whether or not a peanut sorting system will work with the Vision Builder for Automated Inspection. I have seen some very similar systems that work great, but not for peanuts. Also, the success mostly depends on the how good of a job the programmer does on the Vision Builder script.
Variables like...
1. How many peanuts must be sorted a second.
2. What makes a peanut a good peanut and what makes a peanut a bad peanut.
3. How well the lighting in the peanut sorter can be controlled/stabalized.
4. In what ways can you control how the peanut is positioned when being sorted (can you keep the peanuts from visually "touching" each other, can you only inspect 1 peanut at a time, etc.).
5. And there are many more.
All of the variables above change how the Vision Builder script should be created.
