mc1302 with PCI 1426

Hello,
I have a Mikrotron MC1302 camera and I want to use it with NI 1426 base camera link.
From http://sine.ni.com/apps/we/nipc.product?pid=7282 I downloaded the Mikrotron config utility, camera file (icd) and followed the instructions on MC1302 camera support file but I cannot configure the camera with the config utility. It says
1. Error initialising ..... clsermik.dll
2. SerialWrite: Tx not ready
 Start VCAM95.exe first!
3. Error reading camera profile

In MAX configuration when I choose this camera and try to grab an image I can see an image from my camera but it is not stable as it is moving side to side or up and down.

Is this a triggering problem? I use the Async pulse width exposure as the others fail to display anything.

Can you help?

Hi ho_cym

From what you are saying about the camera and it's errors I have a few questions that would help me greatly in finding the problem (and then hopefully the sollution).
When you try using the config utility, do you have the Mokrotron config utility open at the same time as you are using the MAX program to talk to the camera?
The reason for this question is that the config utility will still talk to the camera when open, and may cause serial write errors.

What cables are you using?
Have you had the camera working before?
When you try to use the camera, have you gone into MAX and selected the correct driver? (right click the camera and select the correct model/make)
If you could post back with these answers, I will look into the problem and give you a call to discuss further.
Thanx

Hi AdamB

No I don't have them open at the same time. The MC13xx config tool does not communicate with the camera at all.  e.g. I tried to send a simple string to camera (:v for serial no, etc) and it returns with no Rx.

I use the camera with Inspecta frame grabber using a standard camera link cable all bought from Mikrotron and it was working before. The reason I chose to use the NI 1426 instead of Inspecta F/G is its easy of integration into LabWindows/CVI environement.

In MAX I used the correct .icd file for Mikrotron MC1302  downloaded from the NI Vision website.

Thanks for your help.

When you start the configuration utility, can you choose to use clsernat.dll in the c:\windows\system32 directory instead of the clsermik.dll?

The customer informed me of this this morning.

If you do as above.  Choose the clsernat.dll in the c:\windows\system32 directory instead of the clsermik.dll and your problem will be solved.
However (as stated in the support documentation) you will have some limited functionality.
