license NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 suddenly inactive

Hello,

I'm working on the build of a program using two firewire cameras, with a NI-IMAQ vision acquisition licence bought around July I think.
My program ran perfectly last night but this morning when I reactivated it, It refused, sending this error message :
"Warning -1074364385 occurred at an unidentified location

Possible reason(s):

NI-IMAQ IEEE-1394:  (Hex 0xBFF6801F) No license for NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 Cameras"

The two cameras run fines, along with the PCI card, they even send correct images and sequence on the Measurement&automation tool but my vi code is not runing anymore.

Does anybody know what could be the source of this problem ?

Thanks for your help,

Antoine

            Hi...

I have applications using IMAQ & IEEE,  Have same problem  with activating licensing.  my software runs fine then suddenly stops working  with this similar error.   I reactivate the license and works again, but as it todday I don't know whats the root cause for this to be happening.  this issues causes down time from production. also  i have a corrective action pending for this to upper management

So far what i do, is just reactivate the software, I have save the number on a notepad file on each pc that runs this software, soo i just re-enter the numbers.   N;ow I know I'm not the only one dealintg with this.

Hello,

Could both of you reply with what versions of the NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 driver you are using? This is a strange problem, especially if the cameras will still work in MAX (Measurement & Automation Explorer). Also are either of you in a situation where you computer ID would change? Maybe changing hard drives or Ethernet cards? This might cause the license to become invalid.

Best Regards,

     Hi.  Nate..

The version for  IEEE = 2.0.1  and  for VISION (IMAQ) = 7.1.   I'm using LabVIEW 7.1

No boards have been change to the PC,  you're right my cameras still work if i run MAX.

My equipment is running the suddenly when running for next inspection the error appears

     Regads.  Rlima

Hi,

the problem was solved like you said by reactivating the licence. As of today, I can't think of anything that would have disabled the licence.

I'm using NI-IMAQ 3.7.1, with LabView 7.1

Thanks for your help.

Hi Rlima, Antoine,

Antoine, I'm glad that you were able to re-activate and get things working again!

I'd suggest repairing the NI-IMAQ for IEEE-1394 driver for this reoccuring problem. The only reason I can think of that LabVIEW would not recognize an activated driver, but MAX would, is that the driver somehow did not get installed correctly.

Best Regards,

~Nate
