Hello,I'm using a FL2G-13S2C camera of Point Grey, the problem is that I cant find a lens, because the sensor size is 1/3" and It's really hard to find a 1/3 cmount lens. most Cmount lenses are 2/3" or ... .what will happen if I use a 2/3" lens for 1/3" CCD camera?can any one help me find a good lens, I searched every where that pointgrey had pointed out but I found nothing,My need is:12-16mm fixed focal length, Cmount, 1.2 Mpixel, preferably less than 100$, no zoom, no ohter additional option, for the FL2G-13S2C flea2 camera of point grey.thanks

It's fine to use a 1/2 or 2/3 inch coverage lens for a 1/3 inch sensor.  The 2/3 inch optics cover a larger sensor, but they are "true" to a smaller sensor as well, simply throwing focused light beyond the sensor edges but no hard done in a little overkill.  The opposite would not work, e.g. a 1/3 inch coverage lens on a 1/2 or 2/3 inch sensor.

So in fact you have a wide range of lenses to choose from!  Edmund Optics, Fujinon, Pentax, Schneider,  and many more.

It's economically easier for lens manufacturers (with savings to end users through economies of scale) to make mostly 2/3 inch lenses in volume, thereby covering all 2/3 inch and smaller sensor cameras.
