how can we measure area of whole object without background

we have vision builder version 3 and labview version 8. we would like to measure area of whole object.

we studied that vision builder can measure only area of interesting.

so could you please teach us how to measure area of whole object.

we use background of black color as we have learnt from Rishee B. (Application Engineer of NI)

I dont see any problem here.Use a proper threshold.Use particle analysis.You should get the area right?
