getting chunk features of basler Firewire cameras

I'm working with LabView 8.5, NI-IMAQdx and a Basler Firewire camera scA1400-17fm. Besides the standard features like gain, shutter an so, this camera delivers also so called chunk features. This means the setting and reading of a frame counter, time stamp, line status and CRC checksum. However it is impossible to set or read this chunk features by the help of the Measurement & Automation Explorer or  the NI-IMAQ Vision tools. I wonder how to get a possible to use this features.

Dear kp_schade

Which version of NI-IMAQdx are you using?

Dear Philipp R.

I'm using the following software with my basler camera

Lab-View                       Vers.:  8.5

NI-IMAQ for 1394           Vers.: 2.0.5

NI-IMAQdx                      Vers.: 3.1.2

Dear K.-P. Schade,

The camera datasheet has great instructions on enabling these chunk features. The procedure is slightly involved but you can read it in section 8.5 (page 133) of the attached pdf. Now you have to read and write from the camera registers to enable these features, you can do so in LabVIEW, using the IMAQdx Read/Write Register VIs.

Best regards

Dear Philipp R.

unfortunately I'm not so familiar with this direct register access. So I have a problem with the command notation.

The Basler scout handbook for instance, gives for checking the smart features an adress of "FFFF F2F0 000" (page 129  "1. Write the quadlet...")

but the IMAQdx tool "write register" allows only a writing of eight Hex-Numbers.

Could you send me some example code for register reading and writing  (for instance for checking to see if smart feaures are supported )?

Thank you and kind regards
