fuse box

hi,

i have a 1600X1200 resolution monochrome camera and wish to develop a fuse box inspection application
the requirements are 1) the presence absence of fuses
2)determining whether fuse present is of correct ampere rating
3)orientation of fuses(checking whether the correct fuse is not inserted in an inverted orientation)

what would be the tools to use since i am using a monochrome camera and there are 20 fuses arranged in a rectangular area of 10X10 cm
i am using labview 7.1
pls suggest suitable tools

If you have no experience in labview in vision, if I were you, I would consider to use Vision Builder for Automated Inspection.

You will gain month of devlopment.

Cheers

Hi,

In terms of hardware, we have several different framegrabbers that are available depending on the type of camera you are working with.  Here is a list that you can look at to compare the various features of each device.  In terms of software, as Doc-doc mentioned Vision Builder for Automated Inspection (VBAI) may be a  good tool for you to use.  VBAI is a stand-alone machine vision software which is entirely menu-driven to quickly configure, benchmark, and deploy powerful inspections.  If you would ultimately like to work in LabVIEW with Vision, I would suggest our Vision Development Module.  If you are fairly new to Vision architecture, this software includes Vision Assistant - a prototyping environment with which you can interactively experiment with different vision functions to see what works for your application and how long each function takes to run.  Once you determine how best to solve your application, Vision Assistant can then directly migrate your prototype model into LabVIEW code.  Here is a great web document with more information regarding our Vision software.

10 Things to Consider When Choosing Vision Software

I hope this helps.
