firewire camera disappear

I have a Guppy firewire camera from AVT that I'm trying to control using labview. When I first connected the camera, MAX added it to the Devices and Interfaces and there was a popup about a "cannot load driver" error. I right-clicked on the camera and selected NI-IMAQdx drivers, as per the instructions here: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/E55ECDBC752F226A862570A10078B4C3

After doing so, the camera just disappeared from the list. I tried unplugging/replugging, restarting the computer and reinstalling vision drivers. The camera has not reappeared in the list.

I went through this document: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/C2F87C32F5627A0A862569E5006C17C4

and it hasn't resolved my problem.

- I'm on windows XP, all updates installed.

- The camera drivers from AVT were uninstalled.

- the drivers for the firewire port are the latest.

- the firewire card appears in the device manager

- the camera works on a different computer

Can you see the camera in the device manager? If so, it helped for me to remove it from there and restart windows to find it automatically again.

I can't see the camera in the device manager. There is the firewire card and the IEEE 1394 controller only.
