Did you mean:

defined ROI

Do the ROI (region of interest) always have to be a rectangle or is it possible to define a ROI (which isn't a rectangle)??

For example like this:

_____       _____      ______
|        |      |         |      |         |
|        |      |         |      |         |
|        |      |         |      |         |
|        |___ |         |___|          |
|                                         |
|_______________________|

Or is it possible to take a rectangle and delete some areas (overlay some black boxes)?

Hi,

It depends on the what function you are trying to achieve i guess. There are different types of ROI you can select. Try reading the ROI descriptor help. But some VIs will take only rectangle co-ordinates as ROI.

In some VIs you can pass the Mask image which will define which area to look for. Reading the through the VIs help, will give you some idea.

Thanks,

logic
