cannot link IMAQ-DX to a camera

I have access to IMAW-DX functions, but when I attempt to select a camera (or create a new camera name in MAX) I don't have any options.

Is there something I need to do to be able to use these functions?

In MAX, the driver for the camera must be set to IMAQdx.
(Right-click the "Generic camera" in MAX and select IMAQdx.)

MAX usually detects your camera automatically. What type of interface (FireWire) and camera do you use.
BTW: ni.com/camera allows you to check if your camera is NI supported.
