camera file not available

HI,

I have a Basler Scout SCA1390-17fm/fc (1394b interface) and there is not a camera file to download on the NI site. The closest available is a SCA1400-17fm. Yet apparently any DCAM compliant IEEE 1394 camera is supported. So what does this mean? Will I be able to acquire images but not adjust parameters such as exposure time in MAX? If so that will be an issue for me, what can I do?

Please advise,

For firewire cameras, you shouldn't need to download a configuration file.  MAX will automatically create one for the camera when you first set it up.

Have you tried setting it up yet, or are you just planning ahead?  If you are having trouble connecting to the camera, it would help for you to describe your problem.

Hi Bruce,

I’m just planning ahead. I need to get the camera working early next week. As we need to control parameters such as gain and exposure (from MAX) I thought it wise to download the camera file in advance. All the better if no camera file is required.

Thanks,
