HI, would be really grateful, if someone can help me out.
How do we calculate the optimal moving belt speed, using a area scan camera? What factors do we need? Resolution needed? Frame size?

Steve,
I'm not sure I understand the problem...Is the moving belt the thing that drives the motion of hte camera? If so, and you want to look at an area...periodically...I would think you would need to start with:
What is the size of the area you want to view?
What is the field of view of the camera?
If the camera can see the whole area, then problem solved....if not
How often do you want to see the entire area.
(Assuming that you want to move the camera in the horizontal direction only for simplicity...)
Speed (deg/sec) = ((Area - FOV)/FOV)/ScanTime
This assumes that you want to scan a horizontal strip, which has the same height as the field of view...
Convert the Speed (deg/Sec) using whatever ratio that applies to the drive on the camera...
Sorry if this is off target.
