bright images

I am working on an OCR application where the product is moving at a rate of 3 per second. I get beautiful images of the characters, however every once in a while I am getting overbright images and the OCR script is not able to recognize the characters correctly. The strange thing is that the next image appears normal again. This "overbrightness" appears to be kind of sporadic and I have not been able to find a possible cause for it. Does anyone have any suggestions????

I need a little more information from you about your setup.  What software are you using and what version?

My setup is a Pulnix TM1400 CL camera (Camera Link) a NI 1428 Camera Link board, LabVIEW 7.1, LED illumination. The overly bright images are appearing somewhat random so 85% of the images are crystal clear. I just dont know what is going on with the other images.
