Why 20000?

Hello,

I have a NI 1429 PCI frame grabber and I have a Piranha 3 8k camera. The camera config file was created by National Instruments and I was curious on why NI chose for this Line Scan camera for a maximum height of 20,000? Because of this cap I cannot exceed this value for this line scan camera.

Could it be possible for NI to increase the maximum height? I would love to do in the Camera File Generator, but it always crashes when I load the camera config file.

The icd file is just a text file.  You can open it with Notepad or any other text editor and change the value.

I suspect they chose this value to satisfy some other limit, such as maximum picture size.  8k by 20000 is a pretty large image.  I would just try some larger values and see if everything works properly.
