Which Camera Link framefrabber should I choose for camera type UNIQ UP-2000CL?

Dear Sir or Madam,

I need a Camera Link framegrabber for an UNIQ UP-2000CL.
When I look ( on the NI-site) to the compatibility of the framegrabbers for UNIQ UP-2000CL, NI 1426  is not mentioned. Only the NI 1428 is on the list.

I would like to know if it's possible to combine NI 1426 with my camera or not.
If it's possible to combine, why should I take NI 1428?

When I calculate how many bits/sec the framegrabber must transfer for my UP-2000CL , then I find:

1620 x 1236 x 10 bits/pixel x 16 FPS = 320 x 10^6 bits/s = 40 MBytes/s

When you take 2x2 binning on my camera, you get 32 FPS so you need 80 MBytes/s

This is possible for the NI 1426 and for the NI 1428 so why is National Instruments suggesting NI1428?

Best regards and thank you very much for any support on my question,

Dear Kriscap,

the support file informed the users that the camera file was created by the camera vendor.
Anyway, if the camera is a camera link base then the 1426 and 1430 should be compatible, too. In my opinion the reason why that grabber is not listed is the latest update of this link. I am quite sure the 1426 (base) and 1430 (dual base) are newer than the webside.
The 1428 supports base and medium configuration. 1426 and 1430 only base.
Ask the camera vendor to make sure the camera is a camera link base configuration.

regards,
Steffen

Dear Steffen,

thank you very much for your support.

I asked UNIQ a couple of days ago if the framegrabber NI1426 will be compatible or not.
They told me that they assumed that a NI1426 would be ok.
However, they asked to check it on National Instruments, so that's what I did.

Now that I know that I only need the configuration type of the camera, I will contact UNIQ again (it's not mentioned in the datafiles)

Kind regards,

Kristof
