Vision 8.6 particle filter bug?

I am refreshing my memory by going through the Vision Assistant tutorials and have come across something that has me stumped.  In the first tutorial (metal) there is a call to the Particle Filter function in the Binary tab.  I'm following the manual to the letter using the Heywood Circularity Factor but nothing happens.  I've tried selecting most all of the options and various parameter ranges yet not a single pixel in the image changes no matter what I do.  All the other functions are working great.  Can anyone verify this or have any idea what I might be doing wrong?

Can you post the images on which you are trying the circularity factor?

This is a known issue which has been fixed in a 8.6.1 patch that you can download from

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Best regards,

Sure.  It's just one of the NI examples that has been through a few steps of the tutorial.

I got freaked out when testing the particle filter upon c# request on the forum and got the same response, however, the code for .net worked as expected, so I think it is a vision assistant bug. Nice to find NI are so quick in Service pack release to address such a vital bug.
