Uninstall IMAQ

Installing IMAQ 2.5.1 over IMAQ 2.5 on a new WINDOWS XP system resulted in the message "Error 1714. The older version of IMAQ 2.5 cannot be removed." Now IMAQ isn't correctly installed and I can't find a way to uninstall IMAQ. Any suggestions ?

You might want to go into the registry (you can do this by going to run and typing regedit. Once you are in the registry, you can goto HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and goto SOFTWARE and then NATIONAL INSTRUMENTS then NI-IMAQ and delete the folder. After you do this, you want to delete the folder for IMAQ in the NI directory in Program Files. Imaq should be uninstalled at this point.

While this may work in some cases, it didn't work for me. I received the NI-IMAQ Installer error 1714 on several PCs, running on Windows 2000. Even on systems that have never been touched by NI-IMAQ at all. I suppose that it's a registry key from the MAX providers, but deleting them did not help either.

I tried with NI-IMAQ versions 2.60, 2.55 and 2.51 - all stopped with error 1417. I contacted NI Support,
they were able to reproduce this error but have no solution until now.

Is there anyone out there who has a solution?

I have some problem like this.I can not uninstall the imaq software correctly, when uninstalled, i must install the windows system completely, and then the imaq can run correctly under labwindows/cvi, if not, when i run the programs using imaq, there will be error, and point out that all the imaq function used in the program have no prototyoe. I don know what is the matter, every time i need install the imaq, i must install windows system, that is so boring.

What version of IMAQ are you using. I imagine its an older version? Try upgrading to Version 3.0.1
