Triggering Image Size Change During Image Acquisition

I have a application where I need to continuously acquire images over Camera Link, but the camera has a special mode where the frame size can change between 2 different frame sizes depending on the state of a digital input.  Is there a way to synchronize this "trigger" with the IMAQ board such that this will not cause a frame size error?  Any solutions or even work arounds are appreciated.

Thanks,
Bruce

Hi Bruce,

Could you post more information about your setup?  Are you sending the digital signal from software or from an external source?  It would be very helpful to know what camera you are using and to have a link to documentation (such as a user manual) for the camera you are using.

Thanks,

Actually the camera does not exist (yet).  It's a new camera based on a Goodrich SUI (formerly Sensors Unlimited, Inc.) infrared camera (I work for Goodrich SUI) and it's okay for the trigger to be generated by the IMAQ board.  Basically I will be developing software to test the operation of this special mode of operation (that changes the frame size based on trigger), and I was wondering if/how it is achievable with NI Cameralink framegrabbers.  I currently develop code extensively using LabVIEW and NI-IMAQ to achieve our everyday image acquisitions and analysis, but I've never done anything quite like this.

Hi Bruce,

Sounds like an interesting application.  I checked with R&D, and unfortunately, there isn't a way to accomodate the two different frames sizes with the current NI framegrabbers, as memory is reserved for a specific frame size.

Thanks,
