Hi-
Has anyone successfully used the Sony XC-HR90 and the PCI-1410 frame grabber?
If so, did you have to use the IMAQ A8014 cable?
I have used the Sony XC-HR70 with the PCI-1410 successfully (without the A8014 cable). I want to use the HR90 but do not see a camera file for this camera type. Have you created one?
Thanks-
Blue

Hello Blue,
It looks like the A8014 cable is used to connect to either a PCI-1409 or a PCI-1410. If you were able to avoid using this cable with the XC-HR70, my guess is that you'll be fine with the XC-HR90. Although no camera file exists for the XC-HR90, you may be able to use the file for the XC-HR70. You may need to use the NI Camera File Generator to modify this file to meet the XC-HR90's specifications, but my guess is that it should be possible.
You should take a look at this document :
What Framegrabber Specifications Do I Need to Know When Using the NI Camera File Generator?

Have you already tried setting up the camera?

Thanks, Andy. I have tried the HR70 file with the 1410. I then tried to make a new camera file by modifying the HR70 to no avail. I will refer to the document you have linked and try again. Thanks for the info- I will post my results...

I was able to get the sony camera to show an image with MAX - Grab using either of the generic 60hz or 30hz progressive scan camera files. I have no idea why it worked this time. I then tried to modify the camera files to get to the proper resolution for the XC90 which is 1280x960. I was not able to get it working at any resolution other than 640 by 480.
I am happy to at least get this far so thanks for your help. I would rather have the 1280x960 res, so if anyone can help out with that- please let me know. Otherwise I will simply use it at 640x480 mode.
Thanks again!

Hi Blue,
Can you describe the behavior you are seeing when you try to use resolutions higher than 640x480? Are these resolutions simply unavailable in MAX or do they generate an error code? If you are seeing an error message, you should post a screenshot of the error to help us narrow down the problem.
