Serial Communication in Vision Builder & Automation Inspection 2.6.1

Hi,

     i am working in Vision Builder & Automation Inspection VBAI 2.6.1 with  CVS with 3 Camera Link IEEE 1394 Camera 2.0.1, i have accessed the Camera with the CVS and i run on it, i want to know how to access Serial Port RS 232 with it. it an urgent can you reply soon.

whether i have to try with Modbus Serial  or not.

Hello,

Accessing the Serial port is definately possible in Vision Builder for Automated Inspection (VBAI) 2.6.1. In the "Use Additional Tools" inspection palette, select the "Serial I/O" step. This script step will allow you to create a list of commands to send/receive from the serial device.  If you are not familliar with serial commands a good tutorial can be found at the URL below.
