Problem with triggered snap in asynchronous mode

I am using a Pulnix TM-1040 Camera with an IMAQ 1422 board. I want to use the camera in asynchronous mode and trigger it by an external trigger line. I can snap pictures in async mode with MAX or Labview but only with a software trigger. Whenever I use an external trigger, the camera is triggered but the buffer seems empty. Any idea?

Hello.

I have taken a brief look at the camera file for the TM-1040, and it looks like you are setting the camera into 'Asynchronous' mode and triggering the shutter directly from the camera.

When you are using this external trigger, you are sending the signal into the camera, not into the PCI-1422? Also, you are able to run the camera in manual mode and get images into MAX that are not 'blank'?

I am not exactly sure on the workings of the camera, but there seem to be some different options under asynchronous mode that allow for different shutter speeds. Perhaps try a few of these and see if it has any effect.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your answer. The application is now working when I use the onboard memory of the PCI-1422 and then copy the buffer to system memory for viewing. It does not work when the buffer is configured in the "system" memory directly.
