PCI 1422 installation

I am installing an Imaq pci 1422 card, I have installed the latest version of Ni Imaq (3.1.3) and then placed the frame grabber board into my computer. However when I restart the computer and windows searches for drivers it says that it cannot find any. I have tried everything I can think of, any suggestions as to how to install the drivers for the board and then how to have it recognised in the measurements and automation module would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hi FlumeC,

The latest version of NI-IMAQ is actually 4.0.  The download for it now includes a few other things and is called the Vision Acquisition Software.  You can download it off of our web site at this LINK.   However I do not see why it should not work with that driver.  The proper way to install the drivers and hardware is to first install the driver its self.  Then power down the computer.  Place the card into the computer and restart it.  Windows should detect the card and run through a set up for the board.  After this finishes you should be able to see the card in Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX).  Is the process you used?  If not then use the process and it should be detected.

Thanks,
I carried out those instructions and now the board is recognized on the computer. However I have encountered a further problem, I am trying to use MAX to take a simple snap with the camera. I have selected the Pulnix tm-1300 camera in MAX and tried to snap, but I get the following error: 0xBFF6001F, Cannot detect recognizable video source. I have used a NI D-100 cable to connect the PCI 1422 to the camera but did not connect a trigger to this cable, could this be the source of the problem? Does the triggering box need to be connected when the snap is taken? Any suggestions would be great.

HI FlumeC,

Most cameras have a free run mode.  So unless your camera dose not then there is no reason why you camera should not work without the trigger.  Have you made sure that you’re your cables are firmly connected to both the camera and the computer?  Is your power supply on and plugged in?
