Need advice to choose how to make pictures using Labview triggering

Hi everyone,

I have been using a webcam with Labview 8.5 to make pictures (320x240) during my tests, but I would now need to get a much better definition (over 5 M pixels). I still want to be able to trigger the pictures and get them back on to the computer using Labview (I could also be instrested in making short videos…).

The NI 1722 NI camera has only a 640x480 resolution and is too expensive (1800€…). Could anybody give me some advice and tell me what kind of solutions I have ? :

- The best solution would be a digital camera that would be easy to control with Labview. Is that^possible? Any ideas?

- a video card + camera? -

… I have no experience at all in this domain, so any advice would be great.

Thanks a lot for your time,

Best regards,

Marc

Hello,

Here you will find other cameras less expensive :

https://www.ni.com/en-us/shop/category/machine-vision.html

For example the "Camera, Basler scA640-70fm, IEEE 1394b, 659x490, 70 FPS" for 729 euros.

After you can use a better webcam but you must read this before:

https://www.ni.com/en/support/documentation/compatibility/25/ni-vision-driver-and-vision-acquisition...

Take care about this :

"NI-IMAQ for USB Cameras is a free software driver for acquiring images from any DirectShow imaging device into LabVIEW"
