NI VISION 7.1

I have two questions.

1. Is 'NI Vision 7.1' an upgrade for 'NI Vision for Measurement Studio 6.0'?

2. In MAX, what does the scale option on the frame grabber properties dialog do? Is that like binning the camera? Does 1/2 scale = 2x2 binning?

Thanks

The answer to both of your questions is Yes.

1) The new Vision 7.1 Development Module is a huge release for Measurement Studio customers. It includes all of the features that came out in Vision 6.1 (improved Pattern Matching), Vision 7.0 (doubled particle analysis speed and features, time bounded algorithms, AVI files, new Vision Assistant), and Vision 7.1 (Part Classification, Data Matrix and PDF 417 Readers, LabWindows/CVI code generation, and bundled NI OCR Software).

2) The scaling option in MAX configures the hardware to skip over a certain number of pixels. You can think of it as hardware binning, but unlike camera binning, it does not increase the camera's frame rate.

Happy Programming.
