NI 1394 driver returns error code 10

I am using LabView to read images off a Prosilica 1394 camera.  The device appears to show up properly as "NI-IMAQdx IIDC Digital Camera" under the "National Instruments IMAQ Interfaces" tab of the "Device Manager".  Unfortunatly, it shows a little yellow "!" and reports "error code 10".

I have been able to get this to work on my Toshiba Satellite laptop (which has a 1394 port).  The computer I am having this problem on however is an Intel Core2 CUP (1.86GHz) desktop.  The 1394 port is built into the motherboard.

Some other people appear to have encountered similar problems with other hardware on dual core motherboards.  I downloaded some kind of "patch" in hopes it might fix the problem, but no luck.

Any suggestions?

Hello,

Did you purchase and activate the most recent version of the Vision Acquisition software for the 1394 camera?  You can find it here.  If you do, then I would suggest updating the driver by going to your Windows Device Manager, right click on the camera and select "Update driver".  You will want to Install software automatically >> Don't search. I will choose the driver to install >> Select IMAQdx from the list.  This should get your camera to show up correctly.  I hope this helps.

Regards,

Vu

Thank you Vu, that worked.

I guess what threw me off was the fact that the driver worked immediatly after my brand new installation of Labview's Vision acquisition software, but then stopped working when I rebooted the computer.

Presently, when I reboot the computer, the problem does not appear, so I guess we can say it's fixed.

Thanks
Thaddeus
