Morphology filter options seem redundant (POpen)

I'm looking these mophology functions:

POpen is described as 7 successive opens. Could I get the same thing by selecting Open and putting a 7 into the Number of iterations? If I select POpen and put a 2 for the number of iterations, do I get 14?

POpen is not 7 opens.  It is a series of open and close.  I don't remember the exact order, but it is 4 opens and 3 closes.  The final result is similar to a single open, but I think it eliminates small objects better.
