MAX and NI Vision Assistant found my AVT pike F-100C camera, but can't acquire image in both of them

Hello,

I used the roll back utility, but I still only have the 100mbps option in MAX.  I have sp3 on the computer, and it's also got Ubuntu (dual  boot, but I only use the windows XP).   is the roll back utility specific to sp2?  The microsoft documentation is specific to sp2, so I'm not really sure what options i have to correct my sp3 situation.

thank you,

dave

Dave,

the S100 "issue" is only Microsoft specific. All other OSs support the S800 from the start.

Under XP SP3 the roll back is the same as for SP2, we now also have a replacement driver for the Microsoft 1394 stack, which makes is even more easy. You can download the package on the following website: AVT 1394 Bus Driver Package

Just install the small package & execute the application. The rest is more or less self-explaining.

I posted a similar question in reply to another of your posts, but I think it will be more clear here.

I have a 64 bit Vista system, and with the native texas instrutments driver, I get an drop down max rate of 400mbps.  i need the 800mbps.

I was directly to the Firepackage64, but when I install that, I can no longer load the camera into max  (i.e. in device manager  "imaging devices", disappears, and thus disappears in MAX)

any way to get 800mbps on my 64 bit (sp1) vista system?

thank you

veritas

Hey veritas,

First of all, you will not be able to see your camera in Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) unless you have the camera associated with National Instruments IMAQdx driver. If you installed a different driver, i.e. This Firepackage64, chances are this driver automatically associated the camera with itself instead of NI-IMAQdx. This would explain why you are no longer able to see it in MAX. However, this doesn't explain why you cannot see it in device manager.

In regards to why you can not acquire at 800 mbps from your camera, do you have a 1394b connection on your computer? There have been issues in the past with the windows OS and the 1394b speeds. Check out this Microsoft Knowledgebase and NI Forum Thread for more information.

Hope this helps.

having the competing drivers was indeed the problem, and it was all solved when I removed them both and then reinstalled the correct one.

thanks!
