Labview or Labwindows CVI Machine Vision

I am working on a Machine Vision research project which involves entensive image capturing and processing. I am using Labview now. My question is what the difference is between Labview and Labwindows in terms of performance in processing speed.  Even in Labview, I call some C dll I developed myself. In this case, if I switch to Labwindows  CVI , can I expect some performance improvement? If, yes, approximately how much by experience ?

Thanks

Cindy--

I do not really think that you will see much difference between the two.  Some of the IMAQ function calls may be faster in LabVIEW but calling the C dll may be faster in CVI.  I think it will come down to which one you'd like to work in, but you could look around and see what everyone else is saying...keep in mind these are not talking about IMAQ but just CVI vs LabVIEW in general:

These are just the first couple that I found.  You can probably find a lot more.  Hope that helps.

I noticed that this is a duplicate posting with the thread below.  I can understand the reasoning but if it is possible, try to avoid duplicates.  Give a posting time to be resolved before posting to another thread.  Otherwise, you could narrow your questions down for that particular thread (Vision specifics in the Machine Vision thread and LabVIEW dll calls in the LabVIEW thread) The threads are meant to get you the most specific help to your issue. We appreciate it, thanks.
