LabView USB camera supoort

I am currently looking for a solution that could do pattern matching for my USB color camera. I am currently running on LabView 7 and was using Vision Assistant 7.0 for my image aqusition. I have a new color product test that require me to use a USB color camera. I am not sure what are the changes that is required in my LabView code as well as my LabView version in order for me to migrate frm a Sony black and white camera to a USB camera.

Pls advice

Hi magstan,

do you know this driver: http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/5030? I think to use your "old" code from your black and white camera you only need to transform your color picture to grayscale.

Hi,

There is a driver that you can download from the National Instruments website called NI-IMAQ for USB Cameras.  The system requirements for using this driver are LabVIEW 7.0 or higher, with NI-Vision 7.1 or higher.  You will need a later version of Vision and Vision Assistant in order to run this driver.  If you are able to upgrade your software, you will need to go through your code and replace the IMAQ v VIs with the corresponding IMAQ for USB VIs.  For example, you would replace IMAQ open session.vi with the IMAQ for USB open session.vi.
