Is QICAM supported by IMAQ for 1394 driver?

Have looked at the following link for FireWire camera support.

http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/3efedde4322fef19862567740067f3cc/afded7f599e8a73a8625689e007672e5?OpenDocument

Looked at the data sheet (attached) for the camera we are considering and it says 12-bit output. Would this camera work with IMAQ for 1394? The link above mentions the outputs supported are 8-bit and 16-bit.

Thanks for your help.

Hello CarlosY.

As the link above mentions, the thing that is required for a FireWire camera to be compatible with our driver is that it is DCAM compliant.

The KnowledgeBase is not totally clear about different monochrome bit depths other than 8 and 16, but they are supported. I was unable to confirm from the attached QICAM datasheet whether that specific camera is DCAM compliant, but it appears that it will be fine. Again, the bit depth of 12 should not be a problem.

Hope this clarifies it for you!
