Invalid template descriptor using IMAQ Match Pattern (Error 1074395247)

Hi,

I am creating a LabVIEW application which capture images and save them as templates for pattern matching purpose. I tried opening the PNG images captured from a standard industry analog camera using Internet Explorer browser without any problem. However it generates Error 1074395247 when try running with Pattern Match VI or load from Vision Assistant Pattern Match section.

Despite using the IMAQ Write Image and Vision Info VI to capture templates in my VI application (suggested in NI Home > Support > KnowledgeBase > How To Use Pattern Matching ), I am still getting the similar error.

Hi waigit,

If you are creating a golden template, the plausible cause for this error is that the golden template comparison and pattern matching use different algorithms for creating their templates.  If you are doing a pattern match, there is no need to create a golden template.  Using the pattern matching function in Vision Assistant you can create a new template and then auto-generate the pattern matching code in LabVIEW.  If you want to use an already created .png file template, you can select pattern matching in Vision Assistant, load the template and it will prompt you with the message “The template you selected does not contain pattern matching information.  Would you like to learn this template for pattern matching?” and you can click OK so that the golden template can be used for pattern matching.  If you are not using a golden template or if you would like additional clarification with this issue, please respond back with more details of your application (screenshots also help) so that we can provide further assistance.  I hope this helps.

Hi Vu D

Part of the LabVIEW application's objective which I am creating is to capture the real time image from an analog camera, but not open Vision Assistant to capture image and create template which requires extra steps. 

Anyway, I have manage to obtain the golden template with all the extra information necessary to use for pattern matching. Error 1074395247 was resolved after I added another VI known as Find Pattern2 and connect it with IMAQ Write Image and Vision Info VI.
