Image Analysis for LabVIEW 7.1

I purchased LabVIEW 7 Express (the base version) for my computer. I am planning to use a Basler fc602a firewire camera. This camera is plugged into a firewire board that is supported under the software, "NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 Cameras version 1.5.2"
I plan to do image analysis (measurement of angles, segmentation, edgetracing, and thresholding) on pendant droplets with this camera. I know I can acquire the picture through the camera with the NI-IMAQ software but can/how I utilize the LabVIEW software to create VI's for analysis? Do if not do I need to purchase the NI vision assistant or the NIMAQ vision software? Is that software supplemental to the LabVIEW i have now? My goal is to create an interface for my system that will capture a picture
and then depending on what the user wants to do with it analyze it. I am not familiar at all with programming (C++ or visual basic). Thank you.

To do image analysis in LabVIEW you should buy the IMAQ Vision software from NI - all image analysis functions you mentioned are implemented there and you don´t need to reenvent the wheel - look at http://sine.ni.com/apps/we/nioc.vp?cid=2881〈=US

The Vision assistants are always a good starting point for "playing" with the IMAQ vision functions all available from within LabVIEW and the Vision Development Module - nevertheless they are not necessary to program your imaging application ...
