IMAQdx WhiteBalance Mode change

Hello,

Can somebody tell me how change the WhiteBalance Mode in the IMAQdx. It is listed by the IMAQdx enumerate attributes VI, but I don´t know how to change it from relative to OnePush. Further I want to know how to read out the values get with the OnePush Mode. And I want to know how to set the values of WhiteBalance UB and WhiteBalance VR.

Please can somebody help me?

With kind regards

Daniel

In order to do a "One Push" white balancing, set the active camera attribute to "WhiteBalance::Mode" and wire in "OnePush" for the value. After you configure the camera, you should be able to query the value for UB and VR. See VI below.

Please note there is a bug in version 3.0.1 which does not return the actual value calculated by OnePush or Auto. This issue should be resolved with the next version of Vision Acquisition.

Hope this helps,

JohannS

Thank you JohannS,

that´s was what I was looking for. I was a little bit confused, because I first used the legacy-drivers, but then I found out that the IMAQdx-drivers are newer and that they work better in MAX. So I had to find out how this works. I think you mean the version of IMAQdx with 3.0.1, don´t you? Are there more known bugs, because I am using 3.0. I have also a problem when I switch from Mode 7 to 6: I get a striped red and green image. When I perform a OnePush-WhiteBalance like this in a VI and then I perform it in MAX again, then the first 2 images gotten in MAX are totally different. They don´t have the same WhiteBalance-Values, I think.

Hope you can help with this too!

With kind regards

Daniel

Daniel,

You are correct. The bug I am referring to is present in NI-IMAQdx 3.0.1.

Regarding your white balancing problems: What camera are you using in your application?

Regards,

JohannS

Hello JohannS,

I am using a PixeLINK PL-A782 colour machine vision camera. Now I have another problem, when I set a RIO, the first time I run the VI it is ok. When I run it a second time, the top-left values are ignored, only the width and hight is correct, no matter what I set for top-left. In the VI I change the RIO one time, perhaps this could be the reason for this behaviour. In MAX it is ok. The RIO is correct whenever I grab. This is really confusing.

Kind regards

Daniel
