I've got a PCI-1411. When I run it in MAX for a long time, I get an error message that my acquisition window is too large. I have to read all of the 640x480 video signal. Do I need a faster processor? I have the lockout set to Very Fast. Thanks.

I'm having multiple problems with my PCI-1411 video card LabVIEW application. My image is often horizontally displaced. I had been using a Grab setup, so I switched to Ring. I had to upgrade to 7.0 and use the Image VI to display the video correctly using Ring. Now the Ring shows video correctly, but when I add in my loops to read a DAQ card (PCI-6025E) and the Event Handler, the video doesn't show up any more. When I hit exit, I see one frame of video. I am using the synchronized Stop Handler for the loops that was in the
National Instruments Advanced LabVIEW course book. Help??????? I am up against a serious deadline, and this video is killing me. This can't be that hard! Also, when I run MAX and select Grab to acquire the video for several minutes, it stops and gives me a message that the Aquisition Window is too large. If I can't acquire all 640x480 pixels of video for long periods of time, I'm basically hosed and will have to go to another hardware solution. I also see this error when running my LabVIEW application for several minutes.

Any help or pointers you can give me would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance,

Mary Frey

Mary,

What is your processor speed? How old is the computer? If it is several years old, this could be the issue. If it is fairly recent, I doubt it is the problem.

I have used PCI-1411 cards several times without any problems, but it was a pretty basic video signal.

It sounds like your other loops are eating up all the processor time, which would reduce (or eliminate) the video update rate. You probably need a delay in your DAQ loop to give the video time to update.

Welcome to the image window acquisition buffer club buddy... I get this error immediately when I try to use the grab command in MAX. The strange thing is that if I disable on of the processors (dual Xeon 2.8GHz) then this error does not occur. I am using the 2.6 driver with the PCI-1411 card and have been using this configuration successfully for sometime. The new Dell Precision 670 is just making my life a nightmare! I wonder if it's the new chipset or BIOS???
