I found the problem. I had modified a couple of the IMAQ config files (.icd & .iid) and forgot to deploy them to the target system (to the NI-IMAQ/Data folder). I had hard coded the "Interface name" (.iid file) on the input of the IMAQ init.vi to the new file name. This resulted in the -1074397145 error that the IMAQ init.vi reported when it could not locate the proper config file. I would have thought that a better error message here would have saved me a lot of time. The error indicates the hardware is not present - which is not the case.
