How can I use Vision Builder for Automated Inspection to determine the dimensions of an object?

I am new to Vision Builder for AI and I am trying to use it to determine the dimensions/measurements of different objects, eg batteries. Because the shape of the batteries can be varied, I am finding it difficult to determine the best way to go. I have tried edge detection, pattern and geometrical matching but I can't seem to get code that is robust enough. Are there any suggestions?

I would definately suggest using geometric matching if you are looking at batteries that are different sizes, but generally the same shape.  This will look for objects that fit a certain profile, regardless of their actual size.
