GigE Serial Communication

I am using qty 2 GigE to Cameralink converter(s) from Pleora.
I also have qty 2 of NI-1426 Cameralink Framegrabber boards in the same computer.

My question is related to how GigE in NI supports serial commands on the camera.
(ie Cameralink serial communications to adjust integration time, etc).

NI provides a .dll (clallserial.dll) to communicate via the Serial Interface across the
Cameralink interface.

What is the proper way to communicate through the Serial port under GigE?

Hi TIA,

The CameraLink serial lines are used to change the attributes on Cameralink cameras.  But GigE cameras don’t use serial lines.  The attributes that you can change will be determined by the Camera.  I am not familiar with the Cameralink to GigE converter, but it may be converting the serial commands so that the GigE camera can read them.   

Could you let me know what Camera you are using?  Do you have any info about the Camerlink to GigE converter?   I couldn’t find a user manual for it online, but it should specify how you can communicate to your camera in it.
