Hello
Sorry if this has been covered before?
I am using Vision Builder 2010 to look for detection of manufacturing parts. Prevoius we use u-eye usb cameras but we would like to use an IP camera instead. It is a Foscam FI9853EP HD POE IP Camera.
Could someone please tell me if this can be used with Vision Builder or is there a way around it? I may of read that only basler or axis cameras are only compatable?
Thank you

This Knowledge Base article covers it on the Ethernet IP section, I suspect you found it already.
"Ethernet IP has been functionally replaced by GigE Vision, and National Instruments only supports Internet Protocol (IP) cameras manufactured by Basler and Axis. An IP camera typically sends a compressed image over an Ethernet connection, and the NI-IMAQdx driver only supports IP cameras that provide MJPEG images.
Axis IP cameras must have firmware version 2.0 (or later) to be supported."
Also if your camera is compliant with the AIA GigE Vision Specification version 1.0 or later, then NI hardware and software will support it. This I took from the GigE section of the same document.
So if your camera can use the same protocol as the Axis or Basler cameras then it will work. The trick is figuring it out and/setting it up.
Good luck!
