Hi,
I am using a 60 Hz camera that takes 10-bit greyscale pictures. I have found several ways to convert these 10-bit greyscale images to 8-bit images, in order to save them as a JPEG. However, none of these methods seems to be fast enough when working at 60 Hz; this means when pictures are taken at 60 Hz and when they are immediately converted to 8 bit and saved to file as JPEG. I have tried the IMAQ Cast Image method as well as the IMAQ image to array method to convert the 10-bits to 8-bit, and these are both too slow.
Is there any other way to save 10-bit images to file in a fast way, and preferably in a compressed format so that the hard disk can manage it?
Thanks a lot,
FilipTTI
