FPGA based camera Link interface

hello guys.
this is Aali khan,a new bie, doing thesis on Camlink.i was not familier with this term/technology untill last week. i started studying about cameraLink but it added so many confusions for me.
i know what cameralink is but dont know what is the hardware called which actually support/implement this. is it "frame grabber"? if not plz clearify me.what is frame grabber used for?
do we have any FPGA modules in market who support camlink or do have cameralink interface built on it?
actually i have to select a FPGA based cameraLink system which inclues camera,FPGA evaluation board, and Camera link hareware or board

i have these questions plz
1)what is the hardware called that support/implement cameralink protocol. if u could name them or give me links where i can see.
2)is that hardware (from question1) can be pluged in both with pc and FPGA board??
3)what is frame gramber? can we connect it with FPGA board?
4)do you know any FPGA boards (external or built on)that support cameralink, again if a board support Cameralink does it mean that is has whole module built on or just connector?
can you name few such boards??

i have to code in VHDL, so plz take this into consideration as well

thank you so much for your time
looking forward

Aali khan

i can't answer all your questions now but have a look at silicon software: their microEnable board is FPGA based and its onboard software can be customized (if i remember correctly).
