I am using Dalsa P2-23-08K40 Linescan camera with PCI 1426 cameralink framegrabber card.
I am struggling to configure the camera correctly.
Exposure mode 6 (External Sync, fixed programmable exposure) seems to be the best option for me. However, the exposure time limit is 106 usec in MAX.
I played with the camera file to increase the exposure time and capture images at 500 and 1000 usec (since I am struggling with the light intensity). It appears that the exposure time values are not effective since the image looks exact same at 106, 500 and 1000 usec exposure times.
I had similar experience with MAX when playing with Basler L803K Linescan camera. Fortunately, Basler has a configuration utility that helped to configure the camera more accurately. I cannot find anything like that for Dalsa.
Any recommendation on how to configure th Dalsa more accurately will be greatly appreciated.

I spoke with Dalsa about this question. Although the P2 cameras can have a line rate as low as 100 Hz in Exposure mode 6, the Dalsa P2 cameras designed for a 1 KHz line rate. Dalsa tech support indicated that the maximum programmable exposure time should be about 1 millisecond.

Hi Ashish,
I'm curiuos to know if this isn't just a setting constricted by the camera file that you are using. If you look at the camera file (usually located in C:\Users\Public\Documents\National Instruments\NI-IMAQ\Data if you are on Windows 7), do you see the exposure parameter here? And if so, is there a limitation on what it can be? I'd check to ensure that this isn't restricting the valid values.
Second, are you testing this in MAX or applying the settings and testing it in LV? If it is the latter, ensure that you save these settings before acquiring an image.
Cheers
