Education material for FFT on image

Dear All,

Apart from the IMAQ manual, could anyone advise other sources of education / training material on how to apply FFT (not the maths behind it) on image to filter out (attenuate) noise component of an still image and help to make a fixed pattern more visible from background of random noise.

TIA

Hi William,

National Instruments has several documents explaining FFT.  As far as how to apply this to an image, the Vision Development Module contains a function IMAQ FFT.vi, which allows you to input an image and compute the FFT.  If this function is causing you trouble, please let me know and I will be glad to help; however, if you are trying to build your own FFT function, the best help I can offer is http://zone.ni.com/devzone/conceptd.nsf/webmain/a61876074ae0b9918625684600522cf4.

Perhaps you could post a sample image.  FFT filtering may not be the best approach to removing the noise.
