Does imaq pattern match use frequency domain techniques?

I am looking into writing additional image analysis functions to support

my vision application.  I am wondering if the IMAQ Match Pattern function

uses frequency domain techniques (such as phase correlation).  The Vision Concepts manual talks

about FFTs and filtering, but it appears the pattern matching is performed

in the spatial domain.  Am I right?

Hi Eric,

          NI Vision team demonstrated their pattern matching technique in one of their webcasts on the website. They look for contrast zones to extract edges (Stable Points). this process is done in spatial domain.

         I only can assure you that pattern matching with IMAQ is very competitor to its other software as the accuracy and speed is compelling that Would make you regret that time you wasted with other software.

        I posted a demo on the forum that used pattern matching in object tracking. This might give you an idea about the real power of IMAQ.
